Houten (Netherlands) / Belgrade (Serbia) 15 February 2017 – VanRiet delivered a HC Sorter sub-system to their partner TRASING. The sorter is part of the first automated sorting solution in the region of Serbia. The system is recently installed and operationalized at the end customer of TRASING, D Express in Belgrade.
The express courier service D Express was looking for an automated sorting solution with a capacity of 5.500 packages per hour through 1 input and 50 output lines, and 1 overflow position. To provide the full efficiency and functionality of the system, TRASING found themselves a partner in the Dutch VanRiet Group.
“We had only 6 months to finish the project from scratch. After a little research, we figured out that only VanRiet could pull this off. We saw the company and the products and we concluded that VanRiet is a professional and dedicated company we can trust in.” says Petar Gligorijevic, Sales and Marketing Manager at TRASING.
A Closed Deck High Capacity Shoe Sorter
The products, cardboard boxes of various sizes, are being transported and fed onto the VanRiet infeed belt by the TRASING system. After the barcodes on products are scanned the products enter the HC Sorter. The HC Sorter is a shoe sorter which sorts the parcels at a maximum speed of 2 meters per second to 1 of the 50 exits. Thanks to the sliding shoe concept, the parcels are pushed to the exit of the sorter very gentle. The patented closed deck of the HC Sorter prevents cartons from getting stuck between the slats, which minimizes the downtime. The throughput is 5.500 parcels per hour. Moreover, the system boasts extremely low noise emissions.
Solutions for integrators
The experience of VanRiet and a strong focus on research and development have resulted in a unique, innovative, self-developed product portfolio. Besides applying those products in their own market segments directly, VanRiet has also made them available to third parties as a subcontractor. In this way, VanRiet has been able to support in the realization of many projects over the years.
“Working with VanRiet has been a pleasure. VanRiet is precise, well organized and on time” says Petar Gligorijevic, Sales and Marketing Manager at TRASING. “During the process we have learned a lot of VanRiet. We think that is priceless and rare to see this in the business. We look forward to further cooperation with VanRiet.”
